At the townhouse, iconic photographs by Patrick McMullan were displayed across two floors of the townhouse, accompanied by art selected by Kipton Cronkite and ArtStager, which were all available for sale

From 6:30pm, guests including Ariana Rockefeller, Michael Graves, Cassandra Seidenfeld, R. Couri Hay, Victor de Souza, Michael Lorber, Josh Flagg, Terrence Meck, Jeff Dagowitz, Jason Klarman, Eyal Arad, Larry Wohl and Leesa Rowland, Micca Wang, Liam McMullan, Greg Calejo, and Anita Durst, poured into the building to enjoy the sunshine in the courtyard while having a glass of Altaneve Prosecco on the roof.

At 8pm, all guests went downstairs where Kipton spoke about the amazing subjects captured in Patrick’s pictures, from Andy Warhol to Bianca Jagger, and thanked the famed nightlife photographer, and Consuelo for the evening. He then introduced Consuelo who performed an acoustic version of the title track Lose My Mind, released on June 24th with the album’s US release scheduled for September. As she finished to rapturous applause, she dedicated the track to her husband, Rafael who then announced that the song had been picked up by every major outlet in Germany. He informed attendees that the video was filmed at the Vanderbilt Museum, of which 10% of the evening’s proceeds would be donated to the museum, and introduced Stephen F. Melore, who runs the museum.

It was a great night as he ended it by thanking the guests for their support before introducing the video, to which the crowd danced along with.

0

Since 1965 The Boys & Girls Club of Bellport Area’s has been serving over 700 members, between the ages of 5-19, and many other youths through various annual activities. Its  members come from disadvantaged economic, social and family circumstances, hoping to inspire and enable them. In 2012, they completed a 28,000 square-foot state-of-the art facility in North Bellport which includes teen & junior game rooms, teen & junior learning centers, computer lab, teaching kitchen, library, dance room, recording studio, gym and community room/theater.

On Saturday, June 20th, The Boys & Girls Club of Bellport Area held their 12th Annual Beach Ball at the gorgeous Bayfront home of Alexandra Lebenthal and Jay Diamond with over 550 guests. The guests were treated to cocktails and delicious bites provided by Chef John Wiecks, and served by Boys & Girls Club teens. The evening also featured a spectacular Live and Silent auction themed around the “Art of Summer” with items ranging from an OMEGA watch to a personal Grucci Fireworks show.

Midway through the event, Executive Director, Tracie Romandetti, took the stage to thank all of the attendees and the organizers including Event Chair, Barry Podgorsky. Tracie then proceeded to introduce the club’s 2015 Youth of the Year, Christina Colas. Christina was brought to the stage to speak about her incredible journey and how the club was such an important part of her life. “The Boys & Girls Club came through to me at a point in my life where I needed an escape, ” Christina stated.  She continued, “Just knowing that I had a group of people care about me put a smile on my face in times of darkness.”

After Christina’s moving speech, Christie’s benefit auctioneer, Lydia Fenet took the stage for the live auction. Hot ticket items included a personal Grucci Fireworks show, which went for $8,000 to Alexandra Lebenthal, who then told Lydia that she would be donating the show to next year’s Beach Ball event.  Perhaps the most exciting item of the night was four VIP tickets to the Global Citizen Festival with VIP performances including Ed Sheeran, which sold for $10,000. Immediately following the auction, guests were escorted outside where they enjoyed an awe-inspiring private show from Fireworks by Grucci to close the evening in style.

By the end of the night the event raised over $330,000, the largest amount raised in Beach Ball history. All proceeds from the Beach Ball contribute to the operating expenses of the Boys & Girls Clubhouse and ensure that over 700 children, ages 5 through 19 have a safe place to learn, grow and most importantly, feel a sense of belonging and community.

Grand Opening Of Bluemercury Chelsea

This past Saturday, April 11th Blue Mercury, a high-growth luxury retail chain, opened their newest location in Chelsea, New York. Blue Mercury offers both beauty products and spa services. You can find over 100 beauty brands for men and women such as Clinique, Bobbi Brown, and Laura Merceir. At their spa, you can get anything from facials, esthetic treatments such as brow styling, and body care treatments such as body massages.

I had the pleasure of attending the opening of Blue Mercury where I was treated like a celebrity.  When I walked into the store that is located on Avenue of Americas, I was surrounded by blue balloons and a vibrant atmosphere of people that were willing to help me.  I was told that I was going to be treated to a mini facial and have my makeup done. Unfortunately, I got there a little late but the first one hundred people to attend the event got a gift bag filled with goodies.

Before starting my facial, I was treated to some champagne and delicious cupcakes. What a great way to start off! The facial that I was given felt extremely refreshing on my face and the beauty expert also gave me tips on how to make my face look its best. After completing my facial, my face immediately looked hydrated and was glowing. Another beauty expert worked on my makeup and also gave me tips on what products to use and how to use them. My makeup was done beautifully and looked very natural where I couldn’t get over how perfect the foundation she used matched my skin tone. Both beauty experts made me feel comfortable and were warm and genuine.

I loved and was extremely satisfied with the results of my facial and makeup. Afterwards, I looked around the store and saw makeup, skin care products, bath and body products, and much more. This is the place to go to get some of the best beauty products. I will definitely be coming back to Blue Mercury in Chelsea to check out more of their spa services. I look forward to seeing the friendly employee faces of Blue Mercury and feel like a star once again!

Philanthropic Couple Hosts Pre-Summer Solstice Cocktails

On Monday June 8thJean and Martin Shafiroff, the philanthropic couple, hosted a pre-summer solstice cocktail kickoff event in honor of the French Heritage Society (FHS) at their Park Avenue home.  100 guests were invited into their home to learn more about the work of the Society, and to help raise awareness for the Gala that will happen on November 18th.

The French Heritage Society was founded in 1982 and has been a huge success ever since, contributing to over 500 restoration grants and helping secure almost $18 million dollars for properties in France and to properties in the United States that reflect France’s historic influence. FHS has helped out after numerous natural disasters and also organizes unique student internship opportunities in both countries and offers enriching cultural trips in France and the U.S. for its members.

During the event, the additional Gala Chairs for the November event; Deborah Royce, Ann Vann Ness, Ursula Lower, Kazie Metzger and Jean Doyen de Montaillou were of the many guests that were in attendance. The elegant dressed trio accepted questions from attendees and explained what some of traditional projects are, while also noting how the French former Minister of Culture has recognized the Society for its important restorative work. Jean highlighted the scholarship program FHS funds, which allows both American and French architectural students to study on each other’s shores, and Cece talked about how FHS has forged a strong partnership between France and America through its work.

As the event came to an end, they then thanked attendees  and finished by reminding all guests that the real reason they were all there was to raise awareness of the forthcoming winter gala on November 18th.  Cocktails were raised to the Shafiroffs to thank them for hosting the event.
