UBM Fashion Opens its Doors to its First-Ever Consumer Facing Show Introducing VINTAGE (at) Intermezzo presented by Intermezzo Collections

Retailers and Consumers Shop an Unparalleled Array of the Most Coveted Vintage Items in the Market from Rare Luxury Designer to Accessible Sportswear and Denim

This August UBM Fashion at NY Women’s, Intermezzo Collections will debut its first-ever VINTAGE (at) Intermezzo consumer-facing fair within the show that will be epicenter of vintage shopping for retailers and consumers alike in the heart of Manhattan on Sunday, August 6th through Tuesday, August 8th, held at the Javits Center, New York.

Featuring an unmatched curated selection of vintage dealers showcasing their one-of-a-kind apparel and accessories collections, the entire fashion community will have access to the best in vintage design, style and period pieces. Consumers will be able to shop the fair with the purchase of a $20 admission ticket available for presale here.

Each vintage dealer will be showcasing a unique facet of the industry with product available for wholesale and retail. Today’s consumers demand authenticity in their purchases and VINTAGE (at) Intermezzo delivers. The product will range from luxury vintage designer including Missoni and Versace, gowns and furs, to rare Victorian and Asian pieces such as Issey Miyake, alongside accessible active and sportswear, denim, T-shirts, and personal pieces from Norma Kamali’s closet from as early as the turn of the century.

Participating vendors include: Morphew Concept, Norma Kamali, Dusty Rose Vintage, The Wayward Collection and Brent Edward Vintage.

“Vintage brings provenance to one’s wardrobe and represents another time, when clothing and accessories were not mass produced but crafted by hand with a true love for the actual product itself. It speaks to the journey that has brought us to today and influences the way we see ourselves in the future,” Peter Berta, Show Director.

Intermezzo Collections first debuted its B2B VINTAGE (at) Intermezzo neighborhood at the NY Women’s May Show with returning curator and industry expert, Bridgette Morphew of Morphew Concept. Coming off of the success of this show, matched with the consumer demand for authenticity in their purchases, opening up the show to the public was the evident next step.

“To present and curate a vintage fair within a fair as significant as Intermezzo that is accessible not just to fashion insiders, but to fashion fans is the realization of a decade long dream of ours. We truly believe that if you can understand the past, you can predict the future trends and style movements,” Bridgette Morphew, Founder and Creative Director of Morphew.

Fashion icon and longtime fan of the Intermezzo Collection show, Iris Apfel, will be joining the esteemed designer Norma Kamali and Stephanie Solomon, the Vice President and Fashion Director at Lord & Taylor for a panel discussion moderated by Lauren Parker, Editor in Chief of Accessories magazine on the benefits of vintage, and how retailers can use it to set their stores apart. The ‘Value of Vintage’ panel will be hosted on the Monday of the show at 2:00PM in the Crystal Palace.

Additional highlights of the show include:
· Spring/Summer 2018 Trend Presentation will take place on Sunday, August 6 at 2:00PM – offering an in-depth look at what’s driving the five biggest trends for the SS18 with a focus on accessories.
· A Q&A with Rachel Shechtman, founder of themed retailer STORY will delve into how the revered founder has concepted a brick-and-mortar experience that feels like a live webpage with its ever-changing themes, products and point of view.
