Spirits Network Kicks Off New Original Series, Grillin’ It, Hosted by Samara Davis & Bryan Furman

New York, NY, September 10, 2020 – Spirits Network, the digital streaming platform where spirits enthusiasts can learn directly from industry insiders while simultaneously purchasing premium spirits, has launched Grillin’ It, a new cocktail and culinary series. The program is co-hosted by Samara Davis, Founder of Black Bourbon Society and 2020 Wine Enthusiast 40 Under 40 Tastemaker, alongside Chef Bryan Furman, Founder of B’s Cracklin Barbecue, a Food & Wine 2019 Best New Chef, as well as 2019 and 2020 James Beard Award Semi- Finalist. Samara and Bryan discuss culture, music and fashion while crafting their favorite cocktails and grilling, sharing their insights on everything from the perfect marinade for meat or vegetables to what to drink to enhance the grilled flavors.

The hosts are spirits and culinary powerhouses. Samara Davis is the Founder of Black Bourbon Society (BBS), a group whose mission is to promote diversity and inclusivity in the distilled spirits industry, building a bridge between African American consumers and brands. In this role, Samara educates spirits brands about African American consumers, while also providing in-depth education and unparalleled industry access to Black spirits enthusiasts.

Fellow Georgia native Chef Bryan Furman is Founder and Pitmaster of B’s Cracklin Barbecue, with popular outposts in Atlanta and Savannah. Furman was led to barbecue by his passion for pit grilling, which came naturally due to his welding skills and his time spent on his grandparents’ South Carolina hog farm. He quickly became renowned for his unique style, incorporating flavors of peach and mustard. Using oak and pecan, Bryan is well-reputed for his wood-smoked ribs, crispy chicken, brisket, pork, and his famous cracklins.

Bryan recreates his barbecue masterpieces on air for viewers as Samara matches those flavors with her tantalizing Smoked Peach Old Fashioned and Lemon Pepper Sour. Together, they are the perfect recipe for captivating spirits and culinary television programming.

“Samara Davis is a legendary mixologist and bourbon industry educator, while Chef Bryan Furman is an unbelievably innovate pitmaster,” states Nick Buzzell, CEO of Spirits Network. “Both are warm personalities and pioneers of industry. Together they have a dynamic chemistry and bring a delicious taste of Georgia cocktails, barbecue, and culture.”

Samara Davis adds, “I’ve been a Spirits Network enthusiast since the network launched, and I’m thrilled to co-host this series with the notable pitmaster Chef Bryan Furman, bringing our shared passion for cocktails and barbecue to spirits enthusiasts.”

Chef Bryan Furman raved of his experience creating cocktails and barbecue with Samara, stating, “Even though we were socially distanced, Samara and I immediately felt like family alongside the grill. This series is just the start of our creations together.”
