Mizu, A Japanese Restaurant

There is a hidden gem in Flatiron (29 E 20th St) serving high quality sushi named Mizu.

Mizu is the Japanese neighborhood favorite found right between Sugarfish and Rezdora that has been serving high quality sushi sourced from Japan for nearly a decade. The restaurant is owned by David Sunarto, a native of Indonesia who came to New York to immerse himself in the culinary world. Before opening Mizu, Sunarto worked his way through the ranks at Benihana and Haru learning the ins and outs of running a successful restaurant. When he opened Mizu he appointed Japanese trained Chef Nakao Hirakata, who previously served as the chef/owner of Mishima restaurant for over 20 years. Together Sunarto and Chef Hirakata have created a cozy and warm authentic Japanese dining experience.

Mizu does not compromise. They believe that high quality sushi should be available whether you’re on the go, dining in, or getting delivery. All their ingredients are carefully sourced from highly trusted purveyors.
