Carole Crist & CLC Global Advisors Host Technology Conference at the Yale Club

On Wednesday, February 13th, CLC Global Advisors and Founder & CEO, Former First Lady of Florida Carole Crist hosted a Technology Conference, “Capital with a Conscience – Disruptive Technologies & Impact Investing,” at the Yale Club in New York City.

One hundred guests of the invitation-only conference joined Crist and Glenn Goldberg, Senior Advisor of CLC Global Advisors, on the Club’s 22nd Floor Rooftop Dining Room, where they were treated to light refreshments before listening to expert speakers for three thirty-minute panels. Each panel provided a fascinating overview on the latest development and trends in artificial intelligence, blockchain, cryptocurrency, fin-tech, med-tech, smart cities, and impact investing via opportunity zones.

“It is a palpable shift of the mindset and mission of the investment community who are now seeking to deploy capital with a purpose,” said Crist. “They want to do their part and make a positive impact on the lives of people when making their investment decisions.”

The first panel, “The Future of Investing – the Impact of Blockchain & Other Emerging Technologies,” was moderated by Nicole L. Biernat, President of Laureate Digital Securities. Panelists were Carlos Moreira, Founder & CEO of WISeKey, E. David Ellington, Founder & Executive Chairman of Silicon Valley Blockchain Society, Mike McGlone, Senior Commodity & Crypto Strategist of Bloomberg Intelligence, Dan Mapes, Founder of Verses.io and Xiaochen Zhang, President of FinTech4Good.

The second panel, “Technology in Real Estate, Tokenization, Impact Investing via Opportunity Zones & Smart Cities,” was moderated by Abe Schlisselfeld, Co-Partner in Charge – Real Estate Group of Marks Paneth LLP. Panelists were David Weild IV, Previous Vice Chairman of NASDAQ & “Father” of the JOBS Act, Thomas J. Huag, CEO & Managing Member of Aspen Tree Advisory, Jay Kolbe, Senior Managing Partner & Co-Founder of Impact Partners PR, Jude Regev, Entrepreneur & Founder of Jointer.io and James Hanusa, Tech Guru & Cultural Strategist.

The final panel, “Healthcare Innovation & Advanced Networking Technologies,” was moderated by Thomas Bieri, Managing Partner of ACXIT Capital. Panelists were Dr. Ronnie Hershman, Cardiologist & Angel Investor, Valerio Camardella, Head of Global Corporate Development of Qnective AG, Anitha Vadavatha, Med-tech Expert & Founder of d.Cent Labs and Dr. Gunjan Bhardwaj, CEO & Founder of Innoplexus AG.

Each panel discussion was followed by a thoughtful question and answer session. Following the panels, a networking reception with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres was held.
