BEAUTY FASHION celebrated their 100th Anniversary and Symrise’s 220-Year Heritage in Fine Fragrance at the exclusive Cercle de I’Union Interalliee in Paris.
Industry leaders from L’Oreal, Estee Lauder, LVMH, Coty, Unilever, Puig, Interparfums, Chanel and Hermes, gathered together to celebrate the 100th anniversary of BEAUTY FASHION at the exclusive Cercle de L’Union Interalliee in Paris. The event was sponsored by Symrise which has a 220 year heritage in fine fragrance having enabled the creation of such iconic scents as Jicky by Guerlain through the innovation of synthetic Vanillin as well as the exquisite perfumery bases from Fabrique DeLaire, Shalimar, and more recently Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera and Comme des Garcons. The evening also toasted Symrise’s philanthropic work to provide sustainable jobs in Madagascar and Brazil who harvest the crops, including vanilla beans, to make Symrise’s products.
Two hundred guests, including Vogue Publisher Susan Plagemann and many other New Yorkers in Paris for the Women’s Ready-to-Wear shows, enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvre in the main salon of the club, which will also celebrate its 100th anniversary this year. Live Fashion Artist Danielle Meder amused guests with quick sketches of themselves which were given as mementos of the evening in addition to a special scented candle created by Symrise with sustainable Vanilla from Madagascar to commemorate the event.
During cocktails, George Ledes, President & CEO of BEAUTY FASHION whose family has traditionally held a beauty industry dinner at Le Cercle de L’Union Interalliee for more than thirty years, proposed a toast to Achim Daub, President, Scent & Care, of Symrise thanking him and congratulating his company’s own milestone achievements with a 100-year-old bottle of Domain Legrand Armagnac from 1917.
Jazz Singer Cole Rumbough, whose great-grandmother, Marjorie Merriweather Post, built President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach residence and club, Mar-a-Lago, kicked off the evening with two classics from the Great American Songbook, As Time Goes By and Sinatra’s The Best is Yet to Come!
