This Labor Day weekend, you will want to visit summers most prestigious art fair and social event taking place for the first time ever inside and amongst the beautiful grounds of the historic Southampton Arts Center, The Hamptons Fine Art Fair, presented by the producers of Show Hamptons (September 2nd – 6th).
Founder of the fair, Rick Friedman (Executive Director) is one of the most successful and popular event producers in the Hamptons. He has championed the viewing, awareness and acquisition of fine art by creating the region’s first fine art fair, ArtHamptons, nearly a decade ago (conceived by Cindy Lou Wakefield). This year the Hamptons Fine Art Fair will feature artworks by 70 select national and international galleries, with 51 in-person booths and the remaining exhibiting in online virtual reality booths. There will be over 400+ respected artists with over 1000 pieces, totaling $100+ million in art for immediate acquisition, focusing on accomplished Black artists, hot emerging artists, the blue-chip masters, and an M.C. Escher display, and rediscovery of significant second-generation Abstract Expressionists.
There will also be two secure and climate controlled Pavilions—the de Kooning Pavilion and Pollock Pavilion featuring original works by those artists, plus a replica of the Jackson Pollock Barn paint stained floor. The Sculpture Park will feature impressive works by Louise Bourgeois, Larry Rivers, David Salle, Bill King, Hans Van de Bovenkamp, Joel Pearlman, Audrey Flack, Chakaia Booker, and others.
