The Westhampton Beach Project Hosted a Night of Music, Ballet and Modern Dance for the Westhampton Community

On the evening of Friday, July 30th and Saturday July 31stThe Westhampton Beach Project hosted its 3rd annual public event on the Great Lawn on Main Street in Westhampton Beach, NY. While the event was free, guests interested in making a charitable donation received a VIP lawn seat among other perks. All proceeds raised went towards The Musical Mime Company, INC, the not-for-profit organization dedicated to assembling artists in all areas of creativity and collecting information on corporal movement and furthermore on art in general.

The project was conceptualized by local Westhampton resident, artist, and President of the Musical Mime Theater, Steven Colucci. Colucci, who has been working in the arts for over 45 years decided to make the Westhampton Beach Project his personal mission to expose the younger generation to some of the art forms he has spent so many years of his life dedicated to studying.

When the sun finally set over the Great Lawn in Westhampton Beach on opening night, Friday, July 30th, guests were memorized by a riveting musical tribute to Frank Sinatra by the world’s premier Frank Sinatra tributeer, vocalist Steven Maglio, who was accompanied by The Maglio Orchestra. Guests sang and danced along to Sinatra classics including ‘My Way’ and ‘Strangers in The Night’. Following Maglio’s performance, West African and French American singer-songwriter, Eva Sita featuring the Eva Sita Band and Dancers took the stage performing multiple songs in several different languages. Sita also joined Maglio and The Maglio Orchestra in featured Sinatra duets.

The following evening, guests were treated to multiple ballet performances by soloist dancers from American Ballet Theater that included Luciana Paris, Jonatan Luján, Michael de la Nuez, Jose Sebastian, Javier Rivet, Isadora Loyola, and Aaron Smyth. Then Alison Cook Beatty Dance Company, a New York City based non-profit modern dance company took the stage. Guests enjoyed modern dance performances by Vera Paganin, Miranda Stuck, Aurélie Garcia, Mariah Anton, Asia Bonilla, Jaryd Farcon, Charles Scheland and Austin Kelly.
